Generational Style is how I described my decor to a much loved and now defunct news source when my downtown apartment was featured years ago.
Why ‘Generational Style’ you ask?
Well, I love handmade items, heirloom pieces, creative use of once discarded items, and yes, even the smell of books. Road trips include a roadside rescue of wayward furniture or the discovery of vintage handbags, jewelry, silver, clothing or textiles that I simply can’t leave behind. And as much as I adore dressing up, I also love my blue jeans, flip-flops, fireflies and sweet tea…and I will never miss an opportunity to go thrifting (ask my husband).
My name is Danielle Hatfield, and I’m a Carolina girl with a passion for sharing stories, finding the beauty in the discarded, and introducing you to people who bring beauty, wisdom and joy to our lives.
Over the years, I’ve discovered and restored many items. If you love ‘one of a kind’ pieces, the classic style of our Heirloom Collection provides you with a richness that only time can bring. The exquisite details of hand craftsmanship are to be celebrated, cared for and passed on to future generations.
Generational Style was born thanks to the continued encouragement of my husband and our sincere desire to give loving homes to those once discarded gems, my DIY projects, and the big ideas that decorate our lives.
We hope to share with you items from our favorite local North Carolina makers, bakers, artists, writers, and artisans as well as lifestyle pieces that make life beautiful. We believe that our home is our sanctuary and the items we choose to keep or acquire should bring us joy. Our thank you notes and pens are as precious as our pearls.
We hand select each item available for sale on our website and proudly share quality made N.C. products, fascinating stories, collectible items, and generational gifts.
We always love to see photos when our carefully curated items find a home, so be sure to tag us with #GenerationalStyle online. Want to share a story about an item you recently purchased or one that is now a favorite family heirloom? Contact us today and we will feature your story here.
